Description
A sub-temple of Enryaku-ji on Mount Hiei. Following a divine revelation, the great master Jikaku Daishi enshrined the deity Sekizan Myojin on this site. Together with Mount Hiei, the temple serves to guard the kimon — the inauspicious northeastern "demon gate" — of the capital. It is revered for warding off misfortune in matters of direction and for bringing prosperity in business. It is said that if you receive a talisman from the temple when moving house and place it in your new home, you will be spared the curse of Kimon Konjin, the demon-gate deity.
