Description
A temple connected to The Tale of the Heike — specifically the tragic love story of Takiguchi Nyudo and the court dancer Yokobue.
The grounds hold statues of Takiguchi Nyudo and Yokobue, as well as a poem stone bearing the verse Yokobue is said to have written in her own blood after Takiguchi refused to see her. It's a small temple, but its rustic, melancholy atmosphere feels quintessentially Sagano.
