Description
Founded by Prince Shotoku. It is Kyoto's oldest temple.
Its most famous treasure is the Miroku Bosatsu hanka shii-zo (Half-Lotus Pensive Bodhisattva), which can be seen in the Reiho-den (Treasure Hall).
The lecture hall is the oldest building in Kyoto, housing statues of Amida Nyorai, Jizo Bosatsu, and the seated Kokuzo Bosatsu.
